New Blog

Hi everyone,

Lately I have felt inspired to start up a new blog, which will run alongside this one, where I will talk about issues that affect me and just my general thoughts and feelings. Whilst I love fashion, I have felt the need to blog about other things that interest me and so I'm going to give that a go.

If you are interested at all, I'd love you to go and check it out. It will house absolutely everything unrelated to fashion, so a pretty broad spectrum! You can check out my new blog here! At the moment there's a post on my thoughts on whether girls should have to shave their body hair and another which is my musings on Fifty Shades of Grey.

Thanks and hope you've had great Mondays.

Sale Top Picks - Asos

Hi everyone,

Long time no posting... I know! Had some internet issues and just been pretty busy but back to fashion! Now is one of my favourite times of year when, at what is hopefully the start of some British sun, the spring/summer clothes we've all been lusting after for months get drastically cheaper in the sales. They are absolutely everywhere so I'm going to show my top picks from a range of different stores. Today is the turn of fashion favourite Asos.com, who day in, day out boast an outstanding range of high-street and high-end fashion which is constantly changing and updated. Their sales have to be one of my favourites each season so I have my 3 favourite things that you can pick up at bargain prices!

Obsession of the Day + Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I'm here today not only to show you what I'm loving but also to say thank you as I have just reached 50 followers on my blog. I'm so grateful that you are all following and commenting on my posts and I promise to be more frequent and consistent in posting. I'm also hoping to get hold of a new (and working) camera to document what I wear on a day to day basis and other such things. I'm going to wait and hold a giveaway when I get to 100 followers, largely because I am currently jobless and ridiculously poor so it's probably for the best. But seriously, thank you to all of you who follow, comment, or just simply visit my blog... it means so much.

Now, on to clothes....

Dermilla Round Hem Tailored Blazer

My pick for today is this gorgeous mint green blazer from Miss Guided. I think it is absolutely perfect. Obviously mint is everywhere this season but I love this muted tone which I think could go with so many different colours. I also love the shape of this blazer with the loose almost kimono-style sleeves and the casual tailoring. This stunning blazer looks so much more expensive than £25.99! If you want to pick up this bargain you can pick it up here!

Thanks again to all of you! Hope you have lovely Sundays and I will see you soon!

Obsession of the Day - River Island Shirt

Hi everyone,
So sorry I've been gone for a while... had a fairly hectic week in which I became an auntie again for the second time to my gorgeous new nephew! Anyway I'm back trawling the high street for summer buys and have another great one for you all today...

So to cut a long story short I am absolutely in love with River Island at the moment. I am also fond of anything embellished and, as always am partial to a shirt. So this pick ticks all the boxes for me. I think it is absolutely stunning and can imagine it dressed down with denim (shorts or jeans) and up with navy city shorts and some equally gorgeous embellished sandals for the perfect fresh but timeless summer look. This beautiful shirt is £40 but I think it would see you through for numerous seasons to come. You can pick yours up here!

Hope you're all doing well and if you are also finished uni I hope you're enjoying your holidays!

Obsession of the Day - Zara Dress

Hi everyone,

So whilst enjoying my new found freedom from uni I found myself on a little (or perhaps quite large) shopping trip yesterday. I walked into Zara and pretty much loved everything there. In particular this beauty caught my eye and I keep thinking about how much I wish I'd bought it...

Believe it or not this is a gorgeous dress. I love the combination of the sheer, casual, loose shirt top with the glitzy, fitted embellished skirt. I think this is the most unusual but beautiful dress which could actually be pretty versatile - I think this could be suitable for day and night. I'm in love and I really want to get it. If you love this as much as I do you can get yours here for a bargainous £29.99!

Hope you're having a lovely week and making the most of the gorgeous sunshine!

Obsession of The Day: Asos Shirts

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry that it's been so long since I last posted but the good news is that all my exams are over now and for me at least summer is officially here!! This means you can expect far more frequent updates from me on here as I will have a lot more time on my hands!! I am planning to post a 'Favourites' post in the next few days as there are loads of products I'm loving at the moment... just need to charge my camera but hopefully that will be along soon!

This is an addiction which Asos keeps feeding adding a new cute print every couple of weeks! So today I will show you my favourite prints which these shirts come in... all of which I very much want and need!!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

I hate revision! For the last few days  I've had my head down but still don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. Today, I thought I'd take a quick break and have a look at what I might treat myself to when exams are over!

Image 4 of ASOS Printed Penguin Shorts

Image 3 of ASOS Printed Penguin Shorts

These gorgeous penguin print shorts are what has been missing from my spring/summer wardrobe. They are from asos.com and I just love not only the cute penguin print but also the colours with the nude pink contrasting with the red penguins! I think these would look amazing for a casual day with a t-shirt or a night out with a sheer chiffon blouse. Even better they are a bargain at only £25! Pick them up here!

Hope you're having a lovely week and if you're revising too good luck!

Belated Asos Marketplace Pick of the Week

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't done a post like this in a little while. There are still so many fabulous finds on Asos Marketplace and the website is so fun to look through, it is a genuine treasure trove. Today I have a new boutique which I love to introduce you all to...

PASTEL CANDY STRIPE VINTAGE MIDI DRESS.

This stunning pastel midi dress is courtesy of the boutique Girl Stole Vintage who sell gorgeous vintage finds at really reasonable prices. This one is bang on trend for Spring/Summer featuring the baby pinks and mint pastel colours that are everywhere. I also love the horizontal stripes which I think give it a quirky edge. This is the perfect summer day dress when the weather finally co-operates. All that plus only £18. This dress is a size 10 and you can grab it here!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

So I am loving so many new things in the shops at the moment and am on the lookout particularly for some beautiful heels. Whilst having a look on the Zara website I have fallen in love with most of their heels but in particular these...

These gorgeous shoes are in such a wearable pinky/nude colour that will look as perfect with pastel summer dresses as it would with a simple t-shirt, blazer and jeans combination. They look so classy and timeless but the metallic straps in a rosy gold tone give them a fashion edge.  They have a 10cm heel so don't seem too high or difficult to walk in. The best thing? They're only £29.99... I think they look so much more expensive.

If you love these as much as I do get yours here!

Real Techniques Stippling Brush - Review

Hi everyone,

So as I mentioned in my previous post I picked up a Real Techniques Stippling Brush in Boots on Saturday. I have been wanting to try out the Real Techniques brushes since I knew that Boots were stocking them and some of my brushes have seen better days so I thought it was about time I treated myself.

The brushes, although more expensive than any I have previously bought are so much more affordable than MAC brushes but are amazing quality.

They are synthetic and therefore cruelty free and are so so soft on the skin. I bought the stippling brush for £11.99 and have tried using it with foundation and blush. Although I think it works fine for foundation I am interested now to buy the Buffing Brush as I have heard good things about the way this applies foundation. For blush the Stippling brush is amazing!
I would definitely recommend checking out the line for some affordable but good quality brushes which make applying makeup much more simple!

You can pick up this amazing brush in Boots stores or on Boots website here!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

Hope you're having a lovely bank holiday weekend... I know I am. Tonight will be my 2nd night out of the weekend... I feel like an old woman I'm totally exhausted! Anyway here's my pick of the day for you...

So these absolutely beautiful shorts are from fashion favourite River Island. I think the detail, the colour and the material makes them THE summer shorts. I can just imagine these smartening up a white t-shirt or nude or white shirt for a smart/casual summer look with some pretty sandals. They are £40 but for the amount of work that has been put into them I think that's quite a good price. You can grab yours here.

Yesterday I very naughtily bought a few makeup bits including lots of nail polishes and a Real Techniques brush. Reviews are coming soon!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - Rave Review

Hi everyone,

Good news is I have finally finished all my essays for uni and am now about to go home for 2 weeks to revise for exams and then I'm done! Yay!

So yesterday after having finished my essays I popped to Boots and treated myself to a new foundation. I had previously been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, which I really love - it gives perfect medium coverage and does make your skin look really awake. The only problem is my skin is going through a really oily stage at the moment, especially on my cheeks and the Rimmel foundation was making me look way too shiny and I hate powdering too much, I prefer a less obvious makeup look.

So I went to the Bourjois stand ready to pick up the Healthy Mix Foundation which I know from experience that I love and works well on my skin (I wore it in 30 degree heat on holiday last year and didn't suffer from oilyness). However, whilst at the stand I saw that there was an offer for the new 123 Perfect Foundation, which was £4 off making it only £6.99. When I read the claims of the foundation it said it offered an even complexion, lasting coverage and a matte finish, which I thought sounded perfect!

So I thought I would give it a try today and so far I must say I absolutely love it. There's no sign of shininess on my face even though I've been out, been packing and generally rushing about! It has stayed put perfectly and covered my oilyness but is really natural and doesn't have that obvious makeup look or feel. I am extremely impressed!

You can pick up the Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation for the reduced price at Boots instore or on their website here!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

I'll be back this weekend with some things I've been obsessing over! Have a great Friday!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

So sorry that I have been rubbish with new posts recently... it's that time of year where deadlines and revision are upon all us students so if you can bear with me for the next few weeks, I will then be free for 4 months! Cannot actually wait!

So recently I have been loving the tailored blazer, but have specifically been looking for my perfect white one... it has been a long hunt but I think I have finally found it...

This perfectly tailored piece comes courtesy of H&M. I'm a massive fan of H&M blazers and already own a tailored black one and a more loose-fitting peach one. This white one needs to be added to my collection. It is perfect for spring/summer thrown over a silky vest top and dark denim jeans with either sandals or nude heels. Even better is the bargain price... this beauty is only £24.99. For those of you who prefer a bit of colour it is also available in a nude/pink colour. It is part of the H&M Conscious Collection so you're even doing your bit for the environment! I'm sold and going to pick mine up now! You can get yours here!

Hope you've had a lovely week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Asos Marketplace Pick of the Week

Hello everyone,

Asos Marketplace has not failed to impress me again this week and I have another amazing boutique seller to introduce you to...

VINTAGE BRIGHT FLORAL DRESS

This gorgeous bright floral print dress is absolutely bang on trend for this spring/summer with it's almost neon bright colours, it's midi length and it's pleated skirt. I am in love! This beautiful piece is one of many at the gorgeous and reasonable vintage boutique Kissing Cows. This particular dress is an absolute steal at only £19 and says it fits a size 14 but I think belted could fit a size or two smaller.

You can pick this up here!

Hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

So for some reason at the moment I am obsessed with the jumper and shorts combination for a spring/summer look. There is something about a lightweight knit jumper with some denim shorts which is so effortless but chic at the same time. My find of the day is the cutest jumper to team with shorts for this kind of look...

Knitted Sequin Yarn Jumper

This stunning mint green Topshop jumper is so spring/summer appropriate. It is covered in sequins to give it a less casual feel but the loose way it hangs and its rolled sleeves mean that teamed with some denim shorts and sandals this will make for the perfect summer day look... particularly with British weather! This beauty is £38 and you can pick it up here!

Hope you're having a great weekend and I will be back with my Asos Marketplace pick later today!

Obsession of the Day

Hello everyone,
I am now back at uni, studying far too hard and even too hard to properly appreciate the fact that my student loan has now arrived and I have money at my disposal. Today I have taken a quick break away from the books to find my most perfect skirt ever!

Image 1 of ASOS Mini Skirt in Gingerbread Men Print

Image 3 of ASOS Mini Skirt in Gingerbread Men Print

This is the most amazing print ever... I feel almost faint at how brilliant it is! Just when I thought that asos.com couldn't find anymore quirky, cute prints they let this one out of the bag! I love the gingerbread men with all my heart! You could, as is done here, team with a band tee or a crisp white shirt to get different but equally cute, summery looks. If you like this (and why wouldn't you?) you can get yours for £28 here!

Hope you're having a lovely week and grabbing some gorgeous spring/summer clothes!

Asos Marketplace Pick of the Week

Hi everyone,
So it's that time of week again! As you may have seen from my previous post asos.com are having a really amazing mid season sale and (very good news) this extends to Asos Marketplace too! Many of the sellers and boutiques have reduced their pieces to give an even more affordable way to shop vintage and unique!

I have searched through the sale and found hundreds of items I would quite happily buy but this is my particular sale favourite...

VINTAGE AZTEC PRINT BUTTON UP DRESS

This gorgeous aztec print dress is from boutique The Pretty Junk which stocks amazing on trend vintage pieces. I love aztec prints and especially love how this shirt dress manages to make what can tend to be a black and grey dominated print vibrant with turquoise and purple. It is so beautifully 80's in style but could look so fashionable today paired with a pale denim jacket and chelsea boots and belted as is shown in the picture. This was originally £45 but has now been reduced to £33.75. It states that it is a size 14 but, belted could fit a smaller size. I am so in love! You can have a look, and get it here!

If you want to check out the rest of the Marketplace's sale you can do so here! Let me know if you order anything!

Asos Marketplace Pick of the Week

Hi everyone,

So sorry this is late.. I've been enjoying the Easter festivities! Every week I am again shocked at the amount of absolute gems on the Marketplace site... it is definitely amongst my favourite places to browse, and as soon as I get some money, my favourite places to shop too!

PEACHES AND CREAM DRESS WITH COLLAR

This week's pick is this gorgeous collared dress from boutique Memoir. They have a fantastic range of reasonably priced vintage pieces but this dress is definitely a favourite of mine. I love the contrast between the peach and cream collars on the dress, the wrap-over effect which is extremely flattering, and the large floral print. It seems to be a perfect midi length and although this is apparently a size 14-16 I think that with the help of a belt (much like in the picture) it could be worn by anyone over a size 10. This wonderful dress is only £24.99 and can be found here.

I hope you've had a brilliant Easter!

Obsession Of The Easter Weekend

Hello everyone,

Well last week I was laboriously searching through my usual websites trying desperately to find something I liked to post about. This week is a completely different story. I love everything. I cannot wait for my student loan to come through so that I can make a few cheeky purchases! And so, in celebration of the 3 remaining days of the long weekend, here are my three favourite items on the high street (or online) right now...

This blouse is amazing. As you may have gathered from previous posts I am partial to anything which happens to have an animal motif. This shirt features (in a way which you cannot tell in this picture) a gorgeous leopard pattern. Also, the collar and cuffs feature gold buttons which make this shirt look really expensive, far more than it's £29.99 price tag. Well done Zara! You can get it (and have a closer look at its detail here.

Marllena Cage Cut Out Dress

The second pick is this gorgeous mint (surprise, surprise) dress from Missguided.com; a brilliant website for a night-out-with-nothing-to-wear emergency! I, of course, love the pastel colour which makes what could be a very sexy dress more pretty and feminine. I love the cut out detail and think this is a dress which could see you through nights out all summer. It is £24.99 and can be bought here.

Image of Fern. Cage Ear Cuff

This next pick is a bit different for me! I recently have become really interested in ear cuffs... which have been fashionable for a while. This cage style silver cuff is from the jewellery online store Regal Rose which stocks amazing, unique pieces. This particular cuff is £12 and you can buy it here.

What do you think of these choices? What are you lusting over this Easter?

Obsession Of The Moment: River Island

Hi everyone,

Since I was an early teen I have always shopped in River Island. I remember the days when theirs were the only jeans I would buy, I had every colour of their vest tops etc. Whilst I look back fondly at those fashion faux pas I am increasingly aware that River Island has grown and developed its style so that, even today, its pieces are often amongst my most lusted after on the high street.

At the moment, I could pretty much buy the entire store, however, I have selected a few items which sum up my passion for River Island right now...

This mint green tea dress is so perfectly on trend right now, but would transcend the seasons and could be worn at any time, because of its classic shape. To me, this looks like a vintage treasure and is so versatile. I can imagine this with brogues or loafers, knee high socks and a long cardigan for a laid back day look, or equally with some nude heels and a matching nude blazer for a spring/summer christening/wedding. For the £30 price tag, that really isn't bad. You can get yours here.

Another mint green piece... think I'm obsessed. This top is so pretty it makes me want to cry. Firstly the polka dots make it a winner, but to add to that the lace hem is so delicate and gorgeous it would make any outfit look beautifully girly. Add to this the open back, which shows a classy amount of flesh and you have yourself one of the most perfect tops I have come across this Spring/Summer. It's £25 and you can get yours here.

This silver inscribed bangle looks like it costs far more than £6. At the moment I am really liking minimal, delicate jewellery and this certainly fits the bill. It's pretty and would look effortless with other silver jewellery for a finishing touch to an outfit. You can get yours here.

How do you feel about River Island's offerings at the moment? Have you picked up anything gorgeous from there for Spring/Summer?

Hope you're having a great week!

Asos Marketplace Pick of the Week

Hello everyone,
Sorry this is a day late, I spent so long browsing the marketplace site I didn't end up getting anything on here last night!

Anyway, I have discovered another great Boutique seller on there this week, which is where today's pick comes from...

The pick is in fact the vintage dip-dye shorts from the boutique Dorothy's Wardrobe. I love the dip dye trend and particularly like this colour combination with the pastel blue and lilac. This is such a spring time piece and would look equally great with a white t-shirt for a day look or a black sheer top and heels for a night out. These particular shorts are only in a Size 10 but they do others! These ones are £28 but I really advising checking out everything on their boutique as it's all lovely!

Obsession of the Day

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry I haven't posted all week. Being back home has made me just want to see everyone I've missed so much while being at uni.

I have struggled to find new pieces from the high street that I really love this week. I think my style is gradually turning more and more towards vintage, however this skirt is a definite exception...

Image 4 of Minkpink 'Peppermint Patty' Polka Dot Skirt

This skirt is on asos.com and is by the brand Minkpink whom I absolutely love. What is not to like about this gorgeous, vintage feel skirt? It has polka dots which immediately make me love it, it's in a beautiful mint shade which is perfect for spring/summer and it has gorgeous pleats. It would look amazing with a crisp white sleeveless shirt and, like the model is wearing here, ankle socks and heels for a definite vintage girly style. This skirt is £45 and can be found here!

Hope you're having a lovely, sun-filled week and getting out all your new spring purchases to wear! I will be back today with my favourite piece from Asos Marketplace this week. Have a great day!

Asos Marketplace Pick Of The Week

Hi everyone,

I said that I've been loving Asos Marketplace recently and that I would show you my pick of the bunch every week. This week's comes from the vintage boutique Annie and the Mannequins.

This amazingly cute vintage blouse is a one off in a size 10. I love vertical stripes at the moment and with the pastel yellow this is perfect for Spring/Summer and would look great teamed with denim high-waisted shorts, jeans or a midi skirt. It is £30 and you can buy it here.

Let me know if you've found any great vintage clothing stores online as I am loving vintage style at the moment!

Frances x

Obsession of the Day

Hello everyone,

Today I am obsessed with something I can afford even less than the other things I post about. I have for years loved Ted Baker as a brand. I wish that I had the money to walk in there, pick something up and run to the till. I unfortunately do not. But this beautiful top makes me want to cry with how much I need it in my life...

PELLEY - Ditsy animal print top

This top already fulfills many of my criteria... its muted pinky/purple hues and its peter pan collar, but the best thing about this top is its ridiculously cute pig print. This picture does not do it justice but please go and look here! The only problem is... it's £89 price tag!!! I am just hoping and wishing that the pig print catches on in one of the less expensive high street stores!

Have a great weekend everyone! The sun is out and I've finished uni for Easter so hopefully it should be a good one back at home!

What do you think of the animal print trend at the moment? Let me know!

Obsession of the Day

Hello again!

So I have been scouring the web for some spring-appropriate pieces and have come up with a must have! I am just wishing for some magic genie type to help me win the lottery to fund my addiction!

Mint Cut Out Back Playsuit

I'm not a big fan of Miss Selfridge on the whole... I don't know why but it is rare that something from there will grab me. This playsuit however is the exception to the rule. They've previously done this in other colours ( I think black and nude) however I love this mint version! It is relatively simple and classic with the zip detail and cut out back giving it an edge and the mint colour meaning that it will be perfect all spring and summer. You can pick this up here for £37.

Obsession of the Day

Hello everyone,

Monday's are never good days. However today is proving to be amazing! I have for ages now been wistfully longing for some dresses from inlovewithfashion.com. I thought I would take a quick look at their website to see whether they had any new, beautiful dresses (which of course they do) but they also have an offer for 2 for £40 on selected items. One of these selected items just so happens to be the aqua midi dress I showed in another Obsession of the Day a few weeks ago. On it's own the dress was worth £45 but I can get that, and this beautiful dress (worth £38) for only £40! What a bargain!

(image shows the back of dress)

Also making me incredibly happy today is Asos.com with even more cute printed tops which I am completely obsessed with at the moment. Also, they are doing a 50% of 50 must have spring items at the minute and this gorgeous top falls under that category...

Image 1 of ASOS Woven T-Shirt With Car Print

As you can probably tell this is a gorgeous t-shirt style top with a peach background and a car print. I think it is so incredibly gorgeous and perfect for girly spring and summer days. I can especially imagine this with a midi skirt for a vintage feel. This is also an astonishing £14 in the offer and you can buy it here!

How are your Monday's going? Have any shopping treats made your day better recently?

Obsession Of The Day: Asos Marketplace

Hi everyone,

So recently I've been absolutely in love with looking at Asos Marketplace which is asos.com's place where small boutiques, vintage stores and individuals can sell their clothes and accessories! I love the high street but sometimes you see things on the marketplace which are a bit more individual and you can pick up vintage clothing for a really reasonable price. If you haven't already go and check it out here. I thought I would show just a few things that have been catching my eye from different sellers!

Dandelion Dress by Preppy Long Stockings - £24

Vintage Wild Cat Playsuit Size 12 from Bang Bang Boutique  - £30

Silver Cross and Spike Drop Earrings by Black Tied - £10

I hope that has given you a small taster of what Asos Marketplace is all about. I will try and do a weekly post where I include my favourite piece of the week... perhaps I'll even buy some!

Have brilliant Fridays and I will be back over the weekend!

Obsession of the Day

Hello again,

I will be better with blogging. It has come to that point of term (i.e. nearly the end!) when deadlines are upon every uni student and the pressure, out-of-sync body clocks and emotional breakdowns are the happy result. It does however mean that in only 10 short days I will be home in my comfy, cosy double bed as opposed to, well, the excuse for something to sleep on that I am writing this from... yay!

Anyway onwards and upwards and onto what I would like to spend my ever decreasing sum of money on (damn food getting in the way!)...

Image 1 of ASOS Summer Midi Dress in Boat Print

Asos.com are doing the cutest prints at the moment. This beautiful dress is no exception. This midi style is so cute with its quirky boat print which makes it perfect for summer days. I also love the back which has a bow detail... it just makes me so happy! I absolutely love it! It is a reasonable £32 and you can get yours here

So there we shall leave it for today with the promise of more than one blog post a week. Until next time!
